Mexican Hash
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1/3 c. golden raisins
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. ground cumin
- dash of ground cloves
- dash of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 c. slivered almonds
- 1/4 c. sliced pimiento-stuffed olives
- Cook and stir beef, onion, garlic and crushed red pepper in 10-inch skillet until beef is light brown. Drain. Add tomatoes, green pepper, raisins, salt, chili powder, cumin, cloves and cinnamon. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
- In separate pan, cook and stir almonds over medium heat until golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir almonds and olives into beef mixture. Serve with rice.
