Chili Concoction Option
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 large white onions, chopped
- 4 fresh garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons dark chili powder
- 1 tablespoon hot Hungarian paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon dark molasses
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 dash Tabasco sauce
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 3 (14 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
- 2 (14 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans
- 1 (11 ounce) can mexicorn
- 1 (4 ounce) can sliced black olives
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- In a large pot, brown ground beef with onion. Drain.
- Add garlic and dry spices. Cook stirring for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add tomato paste, molasses, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce. Stir until combined.
- Stir in the rest of the ingredients (except vinegar). Bring to a boil. Turn down heat to low and cook uncovered for 1 hour, stirring a few times.
- Add balsamic vinegar. Stir.
- Serve hot with shredded cheese, sour cream and chopped green onions.
