Chicken Delight
- 6 slices white bread
- 2 c. cooked chicken
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 1/2 tsp.salt
- pepper to taste
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 c. grated cheese
- Cube 2 slices of bread. Put into a 2-quart dish.
- Mix chicken, onion, celery, mayonnaise and green pepper.
- Spoon over bread. Trim crusts from the remaining 4 slices of bread.
- Place on top of chicken.
- Beat eggs; add milk and seasonings.
- Pour over bread. Cover and chill overnight.
- Spoon soup over casserole in morning. Bake at 325u0b0 uncovered for 1 hour.
- Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake 20 minutes longer.
