Gingerbread Ladies

  1. Sift together dry ingredients.
  2. Cream Crisco and sugar until light & fluffy.
  3. Add egg yolk and molasses; beat til well blended.
  4. Stir in dry ingredients.
  5. Chill for at least one hour (this is important).
  6. Half dough and roll out on lightly floured surface until 1/4" thick.
  7. Cut out in desired shapes and place on greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until done.
  9. Cool a couple of minutes on pan before removing to finish cooling on wire rack.
  10. DECORATOR FROSTING: Beat egg white; gradually add enough confectioners' sugar til decorating consistency.
