Shrimp Creole
- 1 lb. shrimp, cleaned and deveined
- 1 small can tomato sauce
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 small can of water
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Cooked rice
- Drop cleaned frozen shrimp into boiling water; return to a rolling boil and boil shrimp for approximately 3 minutes.
- Do not overcook.
- Drain shrimp in colander.
- Rinse in cold water and set aside.
- Mix tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, garlic powder, salt, pepper, barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce in large pan, preferably an iron skillet.
- Add shrimp to hot mixture.
- Stir well. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- (If sauce is thinner than you like, add mixture of 1 teaspoon corn starch in 1/2 cup water.)
- Serve over cooked rice.
