Banana Split Torte
- 2 sticks butter
- 3 c. vanilla wafers
- 2 c. powdered sugar
- 2 eggs
- 6 ripe bananas
- 2 (20 oz.) cans crushed pineapple
- 2 cans Thank You brand cherries
- 1 tub Cool Whip
- 1/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- Melt one stick of butter in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Crush 3 cups vanilla wafers.
- Mix with butter and pack well in pan; refrigerate well.
- Beat at high speed until creamy the powdered sugar and soft butter.
- Add eggs one at a time.
- Spread mixture on cracker crust. Slice bananas oblong.
- (Let them sit in pineapple juice to prevent browning.) Place them on mixture.
- Drain pineapple and place on bananas.
- Place cherries on top of pineapple; top with Cool Whip.
- (Optional:
- top with 1/4 cup chopped nuts.)
- Chill overnight or 4 hours.
