- 2 -3 tablespoons liquid smoke (Some brands are stronger than others)
- 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon dark chili powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon baker's cocoa powder plus 1 teaspoon baker's cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons ground chipotle peppers (I buy them at the Mexican store and grind them myself, much better than the store big company spice )
- Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat and continue to simmer for at least an hour.
