Fideo
- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/3 c. diced onions
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (12 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
- garlic
- pepper
- salt
- seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. bacon drippings
- 1 (5 oz.) box Fideo vermicelli noodles
- tortillas (optional)
- Cook ground beef with onions; half way through cooking the meat, begin cooking Fideo vermicelli.
- To make Fideo, boil about 4 quarts (hard boil).
- Then drop in Fideo; cook hard for 3 minutes, constantly stirring.
- When done, drain water off Fideo and set aside.
- When beef is done, drain fat.
- Season to taste with garlic, pepper, salt and seasoned salt.
- Return to stove and stir in seasonings well; then add tomato sauce, tomatoes and Fideo.
- Stir well; cook until it bubbles.
- Eat Fideo with tortillas.
