Butter Rich Brownies
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 sticks (1 c.) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
- pinch of salt
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a small, heavy saucepan, melt the chocolate and 1 stick of butter over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth.
- Cool completely.
- In a large bowl with electric mixer, cream together remaining 1 stick of butter and the sugar, beating until mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla and the chocolate mixture.
- Add the flour and a pinch of salt, stirring until mixture is blended well.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Pour into buttered and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, smoothing top. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until pulls away slightly from sides of pan.
- Serves 12.
