Best Peach Pie
- 18 medium size peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. flour (heaping)
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. Crisco
- 1/4 c. buttermilk
- Put peaches, sugar, 1 heaping tablespoonful flour, water and butter in boiler.
- Cook until peaches are done and juice is thick. Set aside.
- Combine 1 cup flour, Crisco and buttermilk and mix together for your crust.
- Halve the dough mixture.
- On a floured surface, roll out thin.
- Put peach mixture in Pyrex dish.
- Put crust on top.
- Put in oven and brown crust.
- Add remainder of peach mixture to dish.
- Roll out remaining dough.
- Cover pie with top crust, either lattice type or solid crust.
- You may sprinkle lightly with sugar if preferred.
- Bake at 425u0b0 until crust is brown.
