Feathery Fudge Cake

  1. Grease and lightly flour two 9 x 1 1/2-inch round baking pans. Combine the first 3 ingredients.
  2. In a mixer bowl, beat butter on medium speed of electric mixer, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add sugar and vanilla and beat until well combined.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each.
  5. Blend in cooled chocolate.
  6. Add dry ingredients and cold water alternately to beaten mixture, beating after each addition.
  7. Turn into pan.
  8. Bake in a 350u0b0
  9. oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until done.
  10. Cool 10 minutes on wire racks. Remove from pans.
  11. Cool.
  12. Makes 12 servings.
