Sweet And Sour Cabbage

  1. Heat bacon grease, fry onions until lightly brown.
  2. Add vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, bay leaves, juniper berries and 2 cups water.
  3. Bring to boil.
  4. Add cabbage, simmer 45 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
  5. Remove and sprinkle with flour.
  6. Melt butter; add lemon juice and molasses.
  7. Stir mixture into cabbage. Serve very hot.
