Hobo Steaks(Best For Camping; Serves Four)

  1. Roll hamburger meat into approximately one-inch balls.
  2. Wash potatoes (do not peel) and cut into approximately one-inch squares. Scrape and cut carrots into about 1/2-inch lengths.
  3. Separate cauliflower into bite sized pieces.
  4. Peel onions and cut into 1/2-inch wedges.
  5. Separate main ingredients into four equal portions and place each portion on a large piece of tinfoil.
  6. Add one tablespoon of butter.
  7. Season to taste with onion salt, garlic salt and black pepper.
  8. Wrap portions in the tinfoil, folding edges to ensure a good seal.
  9. Wrap and seal with a second layer of tinfoil.
  10. Place in campfire coals.
  11. Cover package with coals.
  12. Cook 45 to 50 minutes.
  13. Remove from coals with extreme care as the tinfoil will have lost much of its strength and will have hot liquids inside.
  14. Also open with care due to steam.
  15. If opened with care, meals may be eaten directly from the "tinfoil plate".
  16. Saves washing dishes later.
