Double Decadence Chocolate Chip Brownies
- 1 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. (1 stick, 3 Tbsp.) margarine or butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. oats
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- powdered sugar
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Lightly grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Beat sugar, margarine, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Add 1 cup chips, melted*; mix well.
- Add flour, oats, baking powder, remaining cup of chips and the nuts, mixing well.
- Spread into prepared pan.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies pull away from sides of pan.
- Cool completely.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Cut into bars.
- Makes 2 dozen.
