Amish Dressing

  1. Prepare bread by
  2. cutting
  3. in small pieces and toasting in oven. Melt butter in skillet
  4. and
  5. put crumbs in to toast a little, this adds good flavor.
  6. In
  7. a
  8. larger
  9. bowl,
  10. put
  11. chicken pieces, broth, cooked vegetables (potatoes, celery
  12. and
  13. carrots, cut
  14. the size of peas, and cooked in salt
  15. water),
  16. salt, pepper, onions and beaten eggs.
  17. (If not enough broth to soak up bread, add some milk.) Pour over toasted bread. Grease roaster.
  18. Put dressing in and bake covered at 350u0b0 approximately 1 hour.
  19. Serves 12 to 15.
  20. If stuffing bird, omit broth, eggs and milk.
