Jumbo Chocolate Snappers

  1. Place chocolate morsels in top of double boiler; bring water to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Cream shortening; gradually add 1/2 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  4. Add chocolate, egg and corn syrup, beating well.
  5. Combine flour, soda, salt and cinnamon; add to creamed mixture, beating just until blended.
  6. Shape dough into balls, using about 3 tablespoons of dough for each ball and roll in sugar.
  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheets about 2 1/2 inches apart; bake at 350u0b0 for 18 minutes.
  8. Cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes.
  9. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.
  10. Yield:
  11. About 14 jumbo cookies.
