Almond Pine Cones
- 1 1/4 c. whole natural almonds
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 5 crispy cooked bacon slices, crumbled
- 1 Tbsp. finely chopped green onion
- 1/2 tsp. dill weed
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- garlic salt or powder (may add)
- Spread almonds in a single layer in shallow pan.
- Bake at 300u0b0 for 15 minutes, stirring often, until almonds just begin to turn color.
- Combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise and seasonings. Mix well.
- Cover; chill overnight.
- Form into shapes of 2 pine cones.
- Place on serving platter or cutting board.
- Beginning at narrow end, press almonds at slight angle into cheese in rows until all is covered.
- Garnish with artificial pine sprigs.
- Add cheese spreader or knife to plate.
- Serve with crackers.
- Looks festive.
