Cha Gio
- 1 pkg. bean thread (1.8 oz.)
- 1 medium onion
- 4 small carrots
- 1 large egg
- 1 lb. ground lean meat (beef, pork or chicken or combinations; 1/2 chicken and 1/2 pork is very choice)
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. m.s.g. (optional)
- 1 pkg. (25 count) square spring roll wrappers
- Rinse bean thread in water and soften in hot water for 10 minutes.
- Drain and cut thread stack a few times to shorten threads to about 1-inch.
- Dice or process onion and carrots to medium grain size (rice, not salt).
- Combine bean thread, onion, carrots, egg, seasoning and meat in large something or another.
- Mixing with hands works best, but chop sticks work great, too.
