Oven Baked Halibut A La Orange
- 4 halibut steaks (about 5 to 6 oz. each)
- 2 tsp. vegetable oil
- grated peel of 1/2 orange
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. dill weed
- 2 green onions, cut into 2-inch strips
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/2 c. freshly squeezed orange juice (from one of the 3 oranges)
- 1/3 c. apple juice
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. chicken bouillon (optional)
- 3 oranges, peeled, cut in half cartwheel slices and well drained (use 1 for juice)
- Line a 12 x 8 x 2-inch shallow baking dish with foil.
- Lightly brush both sides of halibut steaks with oil.
- Arrange in dish. Sprinkle with orange peel and dill. Cover dish with foil and bake at 450u0b0, allowing 10 to 12 minutes cooking time per inch of thickness measured at its thickest part or until halibut flakes when tested with a fork.
