Sweet And Sour Sauerkraut

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Melt butter in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add onion and apples; saute until softened, 3 to 8 minutes.
  4. Combine onion and apples with sauerkraut in large mixing bowl.
  5. Stir in tomatoes, brown sugar and wine.
  6. Season with caraway seed and black pepper.
  7. Transfer mixture to a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  8. Cover tightly with foil.
  9. Bake 1 hour.
  10. Uncover and bake another 1/2 hour.
  11. Serve as a side dish.
