Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

• 3 c. flour (all-purpose)
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
• 1 c. butter
• 1 1/2 c. sugar
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 Tbsp. maraschino cherry liquid
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
• 1 c. chopped walnuts

1. Sift
2. flour,
3. soda
4. and
5. salt
6. together.
7. Combine
8. with rolled oats and set aside.
9. Cream butter and sugar.
10. Add eggs, cherry liquid and vanilla and beat well.
11. Stir in dry ingredients, cherries and nuts.
12. (Additional oats and cherries may be added.) Shape
13. into
14. small
15. balls, using 1 rounded teaspoonful for each. Coat
16. with
17. oats
18. or chopped nuts, if desired.
19. Top each with cherry
20. half.
21. Place
22. on
23. greased
24. cookie sheets and bake in moderate oven
25. at
26. 350u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
27. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
