Guide To Modern Meals Pizza Dough(Another Foods Lab Special)
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- salad oil (approximately 1 Tbsp.)
- Put shortening, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl.
- Add boiling water and cool to 120u0b0.
- Sprinkle yeast over 1/4 cup lukewarm water and stir to dissolve.
- Add about 1 cup of the flour and beat until smooth.
- Stir in the rest of the flour as needed to make dough that is soft, but not so soft that it is sticky.
- Turn dough out onto floured board, scraping bowl clean. Knead dough for 5 to 8 minutes or until smooth and small bubbles of gas appear beneath the surface.
- Allow it to sit in a warm place for approximately 15 to 30 minutes, until double in bulk. Punch down dough.
- Turn out on floured pastry sheet and stretch to fit a greased pizza pan.
