Simple Corn Bread (with variations)

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl, thoroughly blend together, and set aside.
  2. Scald the cream with the butter, add to the ingredients.
  3. Mix in eggs.
  4. Pour into a greased and floured 13 inch x 9 inch pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 30 minutes.
  6. Allow to stand for several minutes before cutting and serving.
