Boiled Ginger Snaps Recipe

  1. Heat molasses and water to boiling point.
  2. Add in shortening.
  3. Add in dry ingredients mixed and sifted.
  4. Chill.
  5. Roll very thin and cut.
  6. Bake about 10 min in a warm oven.
  7. A note earlier in the cookbook suggests a warm oven should be in the range of 400-450 degrees (these recipes were devised for the ovens of wood stoves, apparently.)
  8. I'd say to go with 400F.
  9. Very crisp.
