Pineapple Glazed Ham with Brown Sugar

  1. 1.
  2. Preheat oven to 325 F. 2.
  3. Place ham in a deep roasting pan.
  4. We used a disposable roasting pan for easy clean-up.
  5. 3.
  6. Use a knife and score the top of the ham 1/8 deep in a cross-hatched diamond pattern.
  7. 4.
  8. Put the brown sugar into a small bowl or cup.
  9. Mix 1/2 ounce of lemon lime soda into the brown sugar and pour the thick mix over the ham.
  10. 5.
  11. Pour the remainder of the can of soda into the pan.
  12. 6.
  13. Cut the pineapple into strips and place the strips (I call them saddles) over the ham for maximum contact.
  14. 7.
  15. Secure pineapple to the ham with toothpicks.
  16. Add Maraschino cherries onto the tip of each toothpick and slide them down on the picks until they touch the pineapple.
  17. Cover the pan with a sheet of heavy duty foil.
  18. 8.
  19. Cook the ham in the preheated oven (with the foil on) for 5 hours.
  20. Refer to the package instructions as well, because cook time will vary based on the size of the ham.
  21. 9.
  22. Remove foil and cook for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, being careful not to burn the ham.
  23. 10.
  24. When done remove the pan from the oven.
  25. Allow ham to rest 30 minutes before cutting.
