Honey Whole Grain Bread Recipe
- 3 c. white flour
- 2 Packages active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 4 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. honey
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. reg. rolled oats
- 2/3 c. minced walnuts or possibly pecans
- In a large bowl, combine 2 c. white flour with yeast and salt.
- Heat water, cottage cheese, butter and honey till very hot (120 to 130 degrees).
- Add in hot liquid and Large eggs to flour mix.
- Mix well.
- Add in whole wheat flour, oats and nuts.
- Stir in remaining white flour (add in more if necessary).
- Knead till smooth and elastic.
- Let rise till double.
- Punch down and place in 2 greased 5 1/4 x 9 1/4 x 3 inch pans.
- Let rise about 1 hour.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 min.
- Remove from pans onto cooling rack.
- Brush tops with butter.
