Date Filled Won Ton Cookies Recipe
- 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. finely minced dates
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. finely minced walnuts
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Won ton skins (found in produce dept.)
- Powdered sugar
- Combine dates, sugar and water in saucepan and bring to boil.
- Lower heat and cook about 4 min or possibly till thickened, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add in walnuts, lemon juice and vanilla.
- Cold filling.
- Lay won ton skin flat with one corner pointing toward you.
- Spread 1 tsp.
- filling in center.
- Roll up won ton into log with point on each end.
- Wet middle point and seal the log.
- Wet two outer points and twist to seal ends.
- Fry logs in deep warm oil between 1 and 2 min.
- Remove and sprinkle powdered sugar over each log.
