Betty's Apple Crumb Pie Recipe
- 6 lrg Apples
- 3 Tbsp. Sugar
- 3 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 2 tsp Tapioca, instant
- 1 x 9 inch pie shell baked
- 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 3/4 c. Brown sugar
- 3/4 c. Butter
- Preheat the oven to 375 F.Peel, core, and slice the apples and place in a large bowl.
- Add in the sugar, cinnamon.
- and tapioca and stir together till the apples are well coated.
- Spoon the apple mix into the pie shell.
- Dot with butter or possibly margarine and set aside.
- For the crumb topping, place the flour, cinnamon, and sugar in a large bowl and cut in the butter with a pastry blender or possibly two knives till the mix has the texture of coarse cornmeal.
- Sprinkle the crumb mix on top of the apples.
- Bake the pie for 40 to 45 mins.
