Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie

  1. For crust, prepare but do not bake.
  2. Heat oven to 375F (190C).
  3. For filling, beat eggs in large bowl at low speed of electric mixer until blended.
  4. Stir in sugar, corn syrup, shortening, vanilla and salt with spoon until blended.
  5. Stir in nuts, chocolate chips and bourbon.
  6. Pour into unbaked pie crust.
  7. Bake at 375F (190C) F for 55 to 60 minutes, or until set.
  8. Cover edge with foil, if necessary, to prevent overbrowning.
  9. Cool to room temperature before serving.
  10. Refrigerate leftover pie.
