Apple Crisp with a Difference
- 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine, butter is best with the rum
- 4 cups peeled apples, sliced
- 14 cup amber rum
- 13 cup white sugar
- 18 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 cup walnuts, chopped
- 12 cup all-purpose flour
- 13 cup white sugar
- 1 dash salt
- 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
- In a frypan melt butter.
- Add apples and saute until tender.
- Remove from heat and add rum.
- Stir in sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour into 9 x 9 inch pan.
- Let stand for 30 minutes.
- Crumble top: In a bowl, combine walnuts, flour, sugar and salt.
- Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Mix in vanilla.
- Sprinkle half over apple mixture.
- Bake in 400f degree oven for 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle remaining nut mixture on top and bake another 15 minutes.
