Almond Pastry

  1. Heat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle water into mixture and mix with fork.
  3. Round into a ball and divide in half.
  4. On ungreased baking sheet, pat each half into a 12 x 3-inch strip.
  5. Strips should be 3-inches apart.
  6. In medium saucepan, heat margarine and water to rolling boil.
  7. Remove from heat and quickly stir in extract and flour.
  8. Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball (about 1 minute).
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Beat eggs and add to mixture until smooth.
  11. Spread mixture evenly over strips, covering completely.
