Almond Pastry
- 1/2 c. margarine, softened
- 1 c. Gold Medal flour
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
- Confectioners Sugar Glaze
- chopped nuts
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle water into mixture and mix with fork.
- Round into a ball and divide in half.
- On ungreased baking sheet, pat each half into a 12 x 3-inch strip.
- Strips should be 3-inches apart.
- In medium saucepan, heat margarine and water to rolling boil.
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in extract and flour.
- Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball (about 1 minute).
- Remove from heat.
- Beat eggs and add to mixture until smooth.
- Spread mixture evenly over strips, covering completely.
