Athenian Green Bean Casserole

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees .
  2. Combine feta cheese and bread crumbs; set aside.
  3. Remove almond packet from beans; set aside.
  4. Heat oil in 10-inch skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook onion and garlic 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Stir in oregano, red pepper and tomatoes.
  7. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
  8. Stir in green beans; simmer 3 minutes longer.
  9. Spoon into 1 1/2-quart casserole; sprinkle with feta topping and slivered almonds.
  10. Bake 10 minutes or until crust is browned and green beans are heated through.
