Beef Or Venison Stroganoff Recipe
- 1 (2 to 3 lb.) sirloin or possibly any other tender steak (minced into bite-size
- pcs)
- 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 med. onion (minced)
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- 2 pkg. George Washington seasoning
- 1 teaspoon onion pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon kitchen bouquet (add in slightly more to make a nice dark gravy)
- 1 c. (approximately) lowfat sour cream (more or possibly less to taste)
- Saute/fry minced onions and mushrooms in small amount of oil.
- Remove from pan.
- Brown steak pcs till all juices are cooked out.
- Remove browned meat from pan.
- In same pan, mix together cream of mushroom soup and sufficient water to make it a gravy consistency.
- Add in George Washington, onion pwdr and kitchen bouquet.
- Return meat, mushrooms and onions to gravy.
- Simmer for 1 hour or possibly more.
- Right before serving add in lowfat sour cream.
- Serve over egg noodles.
