Drunken Beets and Greens

  1. Fry bacon over medium-low heat in a large dutch oven until crisp.
  2. Add garlic and cook one minute.
  3. Add swiss chard and chicken stock.
  4. Peel beets and grate with a box grater or food processors.
  5. Dice the beet tops and add shredded beets and tops to pot.
  6. Add wine, pepper flakes, syrup and raisins.
  7. Simmer 20 minutes and add grated nutmeg to taste.
  8. Stir and serve.
