Browned Beef Stew Recipe

  1. Sprinkle meat with the salt and pepper and dust with the 1/4 c. flour.
  2. In a large stew kettle brown meat in the 3 Tbsp.
  3. shortening till very brown.
  4. Add in beef stock or possibly bouillon, Dr Pepper, carrots, onions, and celery, and cook at a low temperature till meat is very tender.
  5. Add in frzn peas and cook at least 10 min longer.
  6. Yield: 8 servings
