Aunt Mary's Keiflies Recipe
- 6 c. flour
- 1 lb butter
- 1 pkt yeast
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 4 x egg yolks beaten
- 1 c. evaporated lowfat milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla 4
- 4 c. grnd nuts pecans or possibly walnuts
- 4 x egg whites
- 2 c. sugar
- Mix flour and butter till crumbly.
- Soak yeast in water, add in 1 Tbsp.
- sugar to mix.
- Mix together beaten egg yolks, milnot, vanila, salt.
- Add in to yeast mix.
- Add in flour and butter.
- Knead well.
- Cover and refrig.
- for several hrs or possibly overnight.
- Forn into walnut size balls and roll out into thin circles.
- Place small amount of filling into circle and roll up.
- Place onto cookie sheet in horseshoe form.
- FILLINGBeat egg whites till stiff, gradually add in sugar and mix in nuts.
- 375*-15 min
- NOTES : I prefer pecans.
