Crumb Cake Recipe
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. light molasses
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. grnd cloves
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. flour
- Cream butter and add in sugar gradually till light and fluffy.
- Add in egg and continue to beat.
- Stir in molasses.
- Sift together flour, salt, and spices.
- Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
- Add in dry ingredients alternately with liquid.
- Pour into a greased 9 inch square pan.
- Sprinkle crumb topping on batter and bake in a 350
