Simply Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. Cook macaroni to al dente, do NOT overcook pasta.
  3. Set aside.
  4. In large saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat.
  5. Add flour and whisk until smooth.
  6. Whisking constantly, pour in milk.
  7. Add mustard, salt, and pepper.
  8. Bring to a boil (whisking constantly) and cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Reduce to simmer (whisking constantly), cook for 10 minutes.
  10. Turn off heat, add cheese little by little, stirring each added portion.
  11. Mix macaroni together with cheese sauce until coated evenly.
  12. Pour macaroni into buttered/greased baking dish.
  13. Sprinkle evenly with bread crumbs.
  14. Bake for 20 mins or until bubbling in the center and top is golden-brown.
