Italian bread
- 1 loaf bread
- 1/2 liter olive oil
- 1 pinch dried basilicum
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tbsp general Italian herbs
- 1 1/2 kg tomatoes
- mix all the herbs in a bowl with the oil.
- after half an hour, preheat the oven to 200C.
- take the oliveoil and smear out on thick slices of bread.
- when ready, put in oven for 10 min or until crispy, it really depends on the oven.
- while the bread it in the oven, slice tomatoes.
- when the bread is done and crispy, rub the tomatoes over the bread, really try to sqeeuze the juice into the bread.
- put the bread in the oven once again, same temperature, for 5 minutes.
- cut the used tomatoes and the unused ones in little pieces and put in a bowl.
- add a little vinegar of choice and pepper and salt to your taste.
- put the tomatos on the still warm bread and serve warm.
- a little warning, depending on the bread, it can be very crispy, so its not fit for people with aching gums :)
