Classic Pumpkin-Date Loaf

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Place cereal, dates and margarine in medium bowl.
  3. Add boiling water; stir until margarine is melted and mixture is well blended.
  4. Cool.
  5. Add egg and pumpkin; mix well.
  6. Mix remaining ingredients in large bowl.
  7. Add cereal mixture; stir just until moistened.
  8. (Batter will be thick.)
  9. Pour into greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  10. Bake 55 min.
  11. or until wooden toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
  12. Cool in pan 10 min.
  13. ; remove from pan to wire rack.
  14. Cool completely.
