Creme De Menthe Squares

  1. In saucepan combine 1/2 cup of the butter and 1/2 cup cocoa powder.
  2. heat and stir until well blended.
  3. Remove.
  4. Add 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar, the egg, and vanilla.
  5. Stir in graham cracker crumbs.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Press into ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
  8. Middle Layer: Melt 1/2 cup butter.
  9. In bowl combine melted butter and creme de menthe.
  10. At low speed beat in remaining 3 cups of powdered sugar until smooth, spread over chocolate.
  11. Chill 1 hour.
  12. Top Layer: In saucepan combine 1/4 cup butter and chocolate bits.
  13. Stir over low heat until melted.
  14. Spread over mint layer.
  15. Chill 1 to 2 hours.
  16. Cut into small squares.
  17. Stor in refrigerator.
