Home-made granola (toasted muesli)
- 170 gr. rolled oats
- 170 gr. brown rice flakes (or spelt flakes, rye etc.)
- 200 gr. nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, cashew etc.)
- 100 gr. pumpkin and sesame seeds (or sunflower, linseed, flax...)
- 100 gr. dried fruit cranberries ( or apricots, dates, raisins, goji etc.)
- 120 ml. runny honey
- 40 ml sunflower oil
- Chop the nuts
- Put all the dry ingredients into a large bowl
- Heat the oil and honey over a low heat, and when they are nicely blended, pour over the dry granola ingredients.
- Stir while heating and don't allow to get hot enough to bubble
- Mix very well with a spoon or with your hands
- Lightly grease your oven tray and fill with the granola.
- Smooth over with your hands so there are no gaps
- Put in the oven for 35 minutes at 150 degrees .
- Each ten minutes, carefully take the tray out and stir around a bit.
- After half an hour it should be ready to take out of the oven and left for 10 minutes or so in the tray to cool
- Put the granola into a bowl, add the dried fruit of your choice and stir well
- Store in an airtight jar and enjoy :-)
