Apple Tart

  1. Bake the tart crust.
  2. Slice the apple into thin wedges.
  3. (about 32 pieces is the best) Cut the wedges in half.
  4. Heat butter or margarine in a frying pan.
  5. Preheat the oven.
  6. (at the temperature listed in the referred recipe)
  7. Add the sliced apples into the pan and saute until lightly browned.
  8. Add the sugar and saute until brown and remove from heat.
  9. (about the color in the picture)
  10. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  11. Heat the milk in a pot.
  12. Turn off the heat right before it boils and let cool.
  13. Add the cake flour and sugar in a bowl and whisk well.
  14. Mix in a little more than half of the beaten egg.
  15. Add the cooled milk from Step 7 and brandy and continue mixing.
  16. Brush the rest of the beaten egg on the tart crust from Step 1.
  17. (This prevents the filling from oozing out.)
  18. Fill the tart crust with the sauteed apples from Step 5.
  19. Pour in the mixture from Step 9.
  20. Bake for about 15 minutes at 180C in the middle rack of the oven.
  21. Once it's cooled, slowly remove from mold and it's done.
