Toot Your Own Horn Meat Sauce

  1. Cook the onion and garlic in olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat until the onion and garlic are beginning to turn golden.
  2. Add the meat to the onions and garlic and brown.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil; reduce heat to medium, and cook uncovered for 20 minutes or until most of the excess liquid evaporates, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove and discard the bay leaves before serving.
