Beef Stew
- 2 lb. beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. (1-1/2 oz.) brown gravy mix with mushrooms
- 1 cup water
- 3 ribs celery, cut into 1-inch slices
- 3 md. potatoes, peeled and cut into eighths
- 3 md. carrots, sliced
- Place beef cubes in 3-quart microproof casserole or baking dish.
- Sprinkle with salt.
- Stir together gravy mix and water; pour over the meat.
- Cook covered in microwave on 70% power for 50 minutes, stirring once during cooking.
- Add vegetables and mix to cover with gravy.
- Cook covered on 50% power for 40 or 50 minutes or until vegetables and meat are tender.
- Let stand five minutes before serving.
