Meringue Layer Cookies
- 12 cup Crisco
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 12 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
- 34 cup chopped pecans
- Cream Crisco and sugar and add eggs, well beaten.
- Add salt and vanilla -- sift baking powder with flour and mix well.
- Spread in long shallow pan and cover with second layer.and bake in 350.
- Cut into squares when cool.
- Bake till browned.
- Be sure to note the size of pan and baking times to correct before posting.
