Strawberry Jam Breadsticks
- 2- 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 4 Tablespoons Honey
- 1 cup Warm Water, About 100F
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2- 1/4 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 cups Strawberry Jam
- In the bowl of a standing mixer, combine yeast and salt.
- Add honey and water.
- Mix with a paddle attachment for 2 minutes until slightly frothy.
- Change to a dough hook.
- Add olive oil and 1 cup flour.
- Mix until the flour is fully incorporated.
- Add in another cup of flour and mix it in, then mix in the remaining 1/4 cup.
- Let the mixer knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Place dough into an oiled bowl and cover with a sheet of plastic wrap.
- Let dough rise in a warm place (preferably close to a warm oven) for an hour.
- Or you can leave it at room temperature for at least 8 hours.
- When the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer to a floured board.
- Roll the dough into a thin sheet in the shape of a rectangle.
- Preheat oven to 420 F.
- Use an offset spatula to spread the strawberry jam on top of the sheet of dough.
- Slice the dough into 8 to 10 even strips.
- Twist each dough strip from both ends so that the dough spirals into a breadstick.
- Lay them on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan.
- Bake the breadsticks for 20 minutes until golden.
- Remove pan from oven and set it on a rack.
- Let the sticks cool for a moment then serve.
