Brenda's Easter Bread Recipe
- 1 dozen Large eggs
- 1 pound melted butter Crisco
- 1 1/2 to 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. hot lowfat milk
- 3 tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp. orange extract
- 3 tbsp. lemon extract
- Healthy pinch of salt
- 3 dry yeast
- 12-14 c. flour (add in sufficient so hands are not sticky)
- Let dough rise twice in large kettle.
- Cover with towel, then cover with lid.
- Take and braid dough into loaves or possibly make rolls.
- Let rise on greased cookie sheet.
- Cover with towel again till almost doubled inside.
- Brush tops with beaten egg.
- Sprinkle candy sprinkles on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees till golden.
- Can check with toothpick in the middle for doneness.
