Crisp Oatmeal Treasures

  1. Sift together flour, soda and salt into bowl.
  2. Add sugars, shortening, egg and vanilla.
  3. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in oats and nutmeats.
  5. Shape dough to form roll; warp in waxed paper and chill several hours or overnight.
  6. Cut into 1/4 inch slices.
  7. Place on ungreased cooky sheets.
  8. Bake in preheated moderate oven 10 to 12 minutes.
