Haitian Relish (Pikliz)

  1. In a large bowl, combine the vinegar with the chile and cloves.
  2. Add the cabbage, carrots and onion and toss well.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and toss again.
  4. Serve right away or lightly chilled.
